On Friday afternoon, Flagstaff Fire responded to a mutual aid request from the U.S. Forest Service for a 3+ acre fire on the southwestern corner of Observatory Mesa. Officials say 30 emergency response personnel fought the “Ditch Fire” for more than 6 hours before the blaze was contained. Both local and regional Fire Authorities are planning and preparing for a busy wildfire season, and asking everyone using the forests to be very cautious with all fires.
