Verde Valley Fire responded to a Cement Truck rollover in the roundabout at Highway 89A and Lisa Street

On Monday afternoon, Verde Valley Fire responded to a Cement Truck rollover in the roundabout at Highway 89A and Lisa Street. Battalion Chief Dean Koropatnicki says crews were originally dispatched to wash down a fuel spill. He says crews arrived to find a cement truck lying on its side leaking diesel fuel. Koropatnicki says the 79,000 pound vehicle was loaded with powdered cement and was entering the roundabout intersection when one of its rear tires failed. He says no other automobiles were involved and the driver was not injured. Koropatnicki says crews stayed on scene for approximately four hours providing safety and backup while a heavy wrecker and crane were called in to right the truck and haul it away.
