Cottonwood woman steals from her own grandfather

Last Tuesday, Cottonwood Police officers responded to a home in the 100 block of South 17-th Street on a report of a burglary in which guns were stolen from the home. Sgt Monica Kuhlt says the home owner returned from vacation and discovered several of his guns had been taken. Kuhlt says the investigation revealed his 25-year old granddaughter, Stephanie Salazar, had taken them and sold some of them. She says the victim had 7-guns stolen and only 3 were recovered. Salazar was arrested and booked on several felonies including burglary, trafficking in stolen property and being a prohibited possessor. Kuhlt says in April Salazar was arrested and charged with burglary after it was discovered she burglarized a business in the 500 block of East Highway-89A in Cottonwood.
