Road and Bridge closures begin between Williams and Flagstaff

ADOT officials say motorists in and around the Flagstaff area should prepare for delays as work begins on several major projects. Work requiring closures and detours will start this week on the $10 million upgrade to the I-40/I-17 interchange that serves as the gateway to Flagstaff. The I-17 northbound to I-40 westbound ramp will be closed until sometime in November; the detour is the Butler exit. One-direction closures on Beulah Boulevard in Flagstaff are expected to occur at various times overnight between the middle of this month and May and again in October. Traffic will use the JW Powell Boulevard interchange as a detour. Crews are also going to be repaving northbound I-17 for 11-miles near Flagstaff and I-40 between Williams and Winslow.
