The Juniper pollen is out.

The Juniper pollen is out and seasonal allergies are on the rise. Yavapai County Public Health Coordinator Terri Farneti says Juniper pollen is unique, as it can cause allergies in people who normally don’t suffer from them. Farneti offers these tips to lessen the ill effects of spring; Stay indoors, especially during the peak pollen times, and use an air conditioner or HEPA air filter. If you need to perform outdoor workwear a dust mask. Don’t hang bedding or clothes outside to dry, as the fabric can collect pollen. Shower before bedtime to wash pollen and other allergens off your hair and skin. And talk to your doctor about taking an allergy medication. Other natural alternatives like herbs, essential oils and local honey may also help ease the symptoms.
