2/5 Yavapai County School Superintendent Steve King appointed Matt Chavez to the vacancy on the Mingus Union High School Governing Board. His term begins February 12-th and ends at the end of the year. Chavez grew up in the Verde Valley and is currently a firefighter with the Verde Valley Fire District.
