9/15 Verde Search and Rescue responded to West Clear Creek Sunday on a report of a hiker who had fallen ill at the base of the trail. The person needing rescue indicated they had spent the night along the trail along with their 5-companions. Rescuers hiked the 2.5-miles to the location at which time it was decided to bring in a helicopter to help with the rescue. All hikers and rescuers were flown out of the area safely.
