5/2 ADOT updated their schedule for work on Highway-89A, in Oak Creek Canyon, between Pine Flat Campground and the Scenic Overlook at the top of the Switchbacks. Guardrail replacement, through the Switchback area starts today. Motorists should expect 24/7 lane restrictions, Mondays through Thursdays and until noon on Fridays. Temporary traffic signals will continue to move traffic through the construction zone. Drivers should allow extra time and expect delays. The highway will be completely open from Friday afternoon through Sunday each week. The entire project should be finished by late summer.
