12/22 Friday, Tonto National Monument, celebrated their 118-th birthday. The park was dedicated on December 19-th, 1907. Tonto National Monument was established by President Theodore Roosevelt via Proclamation-787, preserving and protecting 480-acres surrounding the Upper and Lower Cliff Dwellings. The monument was first managed by the Forest Service, but in 1934, management was transferred to the National Park Service.
