12/22 The Coconino County Board of Supervisors recently heard from Arizona State Forester Thomas Torres about the new Fire Insurance Review Task Force, which was created by the passage of House Bill 2045 this past June. The statewide Task Force will hold its first meeting in January. The Task Force will collect data from insurers about coverage availability, rates, non-renewals and cancellations, identify trends and make recommendations to the State Legislature regarding building codes, building permits, ordinances and defensible space to reduce the wildfire risk to homes in areas of heightened wildfire risk.
