The Central Yavapai Metropolitan Planning Organization (CYMPO) is in the process of updating their Regional Transportation Plan, called Move 2050, which serves as a blueprint for future investments in the roadway and transit system throughout much of Yavapai County.
Move 2050 will include improvements to address all modes of travel including bicycle, pedestrian, mobility devices, buses, and vehicles. Move 2050 is a forward-looking roadmap that aims to connect the community, secure critical future transportation infrastructure, and create a responsive and adaptive transportation system that meets the evolving needs of greater Yavapai County.
Move 2050 is a crucial planning process that addresses the region’s transportation needs by:
Balancing the area’s unique rural character with anticipated growth while preserving the region’s natural environment.
Providing a strategic approach to transportation development to maximize infrastructure investments and funding opportunities.
Ensuring coordinated and thoughtful infrastructure planning to create a comprehensive transportation vision across all modes of travel.
Creating a representative plan for improvements through public and stakeholder engagement.
The public and stakeholder engagement process seeks input from communities across the greater CYMPO region to inform the plan’s development and identify consensus on regional transportation priorities. A short survey is currently open for all community members to lodge their comments, suggestions, and to reflect real time issues within the regional transportation network. The survey is available at cympo.org/move2050 through January 10th.
