9/11 Grand Canyon officials say they’re continuing the search for 53-year-old Timothy Smith, of Wyoming, who was swept away by flood waters on August 29-th. Thursday, Search and Rescue Teams worked in the Silver Bridge area with ground teams and K-9s. A Condition Assessment Team arrived and will assess Phantom Ranch and Bright Angel facilities. APS has been installing temporary power poles in an effort to restore power to the area and portable water tanks and toilets are being added to the South Rim. The North Kaibab Trail remains closed to the public due to safety concerns.
