2/18 Tonto National Forest officials say the Mine Fire, near Mine Mountain, should be contained by the end of the day today. Crews are conducting some firing operations today to pull the fire’s edges together. Officials ask the public to stay off of Forest Road-143 and to keep the entire fire area clear. The Mine Fire was reported Monday and started near a known shooting pit. It charred between 20-and-30-acres.
