10/14 YCSO says a man camping with his dog, near Prescott, was nearly killed by a falling tree. Sunday afternoon, deputies responded to a call of a tree that had fallen on a van while a man and his dog were inside. Officials say an ice chest in the van took the brunt of the impact, keeping the tree from crushing the man in the driver’s seat. Wet ground and strong winds can knock over trees. Officials say avoid parking, camping, or idling under large, dead, or leaning trees, especially during high winds.
