12/27 The Horton Fire northeast of Payson is now 17% contained at 928-acres. The human caused fire has been burning since December 14-th; an emergency closure order remains in place around the fire through the end of January. Crews continue to patrol and strengthen the current fire lines. The Soap Fire, west of Black Canyon City, remains 90% contained at 930-acres. It was also human caused.
