3/31 DPS recently responded to a call of a vehicle versus animal collision that occurred on Highway-160, near Kayenta. The caller reported that they had come across a large bird on the highway and moved it to the side of the road. The bird turned out to be a golden eagle that had been hit by a vehicle. The bird was taken to the Window Rock Zoo for veterinary care.
