6/01 Thursday afternoon, Prescott Police responded to a hit-and-run on White Spar Road.Officials say 63-year-old Jeffrey Jones, crashed into the back of a motorcycle that was being driven by a 25-year-old Prescott resident. The rider and bike were then dragged some 220-feet before they broke free and then Jones left them in the roadway. Witnesses reported Jones was passing illegally and speeding at the time of the incident. Police believe the only reason Jones stopped was because his vehicle became inoperable. Inside Jones’ vehicle, officers located numerous alcohol containers. He was arrested on felony charges including Aggravated Assault, Aggravated DUI, Felony Hit and Run, and Endangerment. The motorcycle rider sustained minor injuries and was treated and released at the scene.
