8/03 DPS recently arrested a man who was threatening people in Mayer with a samurai sword. Officials say the suspect, whose name was not released, was swinging the sword along Highway-69. Troopers were able to take the suspect and sword into custody without further incident. The suspect is a convicted felon and had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He was charged with disorderly conduct involving a weapon.
