Cottonwood Police arrested a Cottonwood man on child sex charges. Sgt Monica Kuhlt says the suspect was arrested Wednesday; the crime occurred at an apartment in the 100-block of South 6-th Street. The caller allegedly caught 46-year old Michael Turner molesting her 8-year-old daughter in the living room. Turner left the apartment before police arrived. Detectives took over the investigation and located the suspect later in the day. Based on the evidence gathered during the investigation and Turner’s admission he was booked into the Yavapai County Detention Center on four counts of Child Molestation including the Dangerous Crimes against Children enhancement. Kuhlt says Turner and the mother used to date, but remained friends. Turner was providing child care while the mother worked. He remains jailed with no bond.
