8/27 The Arizona Department of Forestry says the Campwood Fire, 5-miles northeast of Bagdad, was once again active Wednesday. Crews conducted firing operations Wednesday, which created additional smoke. The goal was to move the fire off steep terrain and into an easier area to suppress. Official say the area burning has not seen fire in many years and there’s an abundance of fuels to burn. A flyover of the fire Wednesday put the burned acreage at 283. Crews are conducting additional aerial ignitions today. The fire remains 0% contained.
