Internet fraud victims encouraged to notify the authorities.

Local law enforcement is asking anyone who has been the victim of internet fraud to contact the authorities. The FBI and the National White Collar Crime Center have developed a partnership called the Internet Fraud Complaint Center, or IC3 to address fraud committed over the Internet. Victims are encouraged to use the IFCC complaint form at IC3.gov. After the crime is reported the IC3 sends the information to the proper authorities. Citizens may also file a regular police report with their local Police Department. Officials say if you suspect that you are a victim of internet fraud, it is very important that you act quickly.
