Phoenix area men charged with dealing drugs from Cordes Lakes motel

YCSO and PANT recently arrested two Phoenix area men on felony drug charges following a bust at a motel in Cordes Lakes. Spokesman Dwight D’Evelyn says a tip lead them to the suspects who had been snorting drugs in the parking lot. Deputies also contacted 2 additional occupants identified as 41-year-old Charles Taylor from Glendale and 28-year-old Oscar Flores of Phoenix. The lead deputy completed extensive interviews with the 3 individuals detained and all essentially denied drug use, but admitted there might be marijuana in the motel room. A YCSO K9 deputy was called to the scene and received a positive alert for drug odor on the truck during an exterior sniff. While searching for the source of odor, deputies located a 9mm handgun in the bed of the truck. He says a search of the room located 19-grams of meth, 5-grams of heroin, marijuana and drug paraphernalia. A 29-year old woman, also in the room, claimed Taylor had held her against her will and would not let her leave. D’Evelyn says her involvement in the case remains under investigation.
