Flash Flood Watch extended through this afternoon

The National Weather Service in Bellemont has extended the Flash Flood Watch through this afternoon for areas below the Mogollon Rim. Moisture from Tropical Depression Rosa continues to move into the state today and we could see some areas receiving additional heavy rainfall. Officials say much of the rain will fall this morning and early afternoon. Expect the greatest risk of flash flooding to be across northern Gila County and the eastern Mogollon Rim this morning with the flood risk shifting to Yavapai County this afternoon. Significant rises in washes, streams and rivers are likely. Early this morning, the National Weather Service issued a Flash Flood Warning from Kachina Village south through Oak Creek Canyon, Sedona and Cornville due to heavy flows of water traveling down Pumphouse Wash and then into Oak Creek. This could be repeated later today.
