Containment lines holding on fires near Sedona

Coconino National Forest officials say containment lines have successfully prevented the Platypus/Rhino Fire, northwest of Sedona, from moving forward to the north and east. Crews continue patrol and mop up the areas. Officials say they don’t expect the fire to grow much to the south; however some fire spread will occur. Crews may use helicopters to suppress the fire, if it starts to show significant growth. Smoke will continue to be visible and impact Sedona, the Verde Valley and Flagstaff. 5,800-acres have been burned.
