Pilot of crashed plane in Cottonwood dies from his injuries

The pilot of the plane that crashed in Cottonwood Monday morning has died as a result of his injuries. Cottonwood Police Sgt. Monica Kuhlt says 70-year old Joseph Kreiner of Clarkdale was flown to the Maricopa County Burn Center following the crash on Tierra Verde Circle where he succumbed to his injuries. Kreiner told officials the plane’s engine stopped working, which caused him to crash. The FAA and NTSB removed the plane Monday evening and are conducting an investigation into the cause of the crash.
