The Cat Fire near Fredonia has been rekindled with the warmer temperatures and windy conditions. Kaibab National Forest officials say the fire has shown real growth over the past few days and has now charred 3,500-acres. Officials say the fire is approaching Forest Road 610 and is forcing some closures. Staff is closing Forest Roads 219 and 610 along with Marble Viewpoint, Saddle Mountain Trail, North Canyon Trail, South Canyon Trail and about 5-miles of the Arizona Trail. A map of the closure area can be found on the forest website. Smoke will be very visible to anyone in the area.
