1/7 From December 5-th through January 31-st, law enforcement agencies that participated in DUI saturation patrols and checkpoints, made a total of 1,354-DUI arrests. The Governor’s Office of Highway Safety says 349 of those arrests were for DUI drugs and 52 were for Under-21 DUI arrests. Officers also issued 629-criminal speed citations, 385-distracted driving citations and 684-seat belt citations. Overall DUI arrests were down from 1,550 last year, but there were also fewer officers participating. Last year saw over 9,600-officers; this year just over 7,100-participated.
