Prescott Man Arrested for Homicide

On December 11, 2024, at approximately 12:12 A.M. Prescott Police Officers responded to the 1000 block of West Whipple Street after receiving a 911 call from a male subject who advised that he had just killed his roommate. The suspect identified as 34-year-old Adam Tucker advised dispatch that he had just killed a man because he thought he was a pedophile.

Upon arrival, officers located and detained Adam Tucker and were able to locate the victim, 73-year-old David Dale, lying on the floor of the apartment unresponsive. Life saving measures were attempted on Dale but proved to be unsuccessful.

Through the course of the investigation, Tucker advised that he asked Dale if he was sexually attracted to children after he said Dale was acting “weird” about lending his phone to a second roommate. Tucker stated that Dale later admitted to him that he was sexually attracted to children. Tucker told investigators that he went into the victim’s room and placed him in a choke hold while he was lying in bed. Tucker advised investigators that he physically choked the Dale for several minutes until he knew he was dead. Tucker then phoned 911 to report the incident and waited for officers to arrive.

Currently, this incident is actively being investigated. Tucker was arrested and booked into the Yavapai County Jail on charges of first-degree murder.
