11/12 Several state highways will be closing between now and the end of the year. ADOT says the target dates for each closure will be dependent on Mother Nature and what she brings in terms of snowfall. Highway-473, between Highway-260 and Hawley Lake, in the White Mountains, closes this Thursday. Portions of Highway-67, 261 and 273 will follow in December. These roadways are known for significant amounts of snowfall and are part of ADOT’s winter shutdown schedule.
- State Route 473 between State Route 260 and Hawley Lake in the White Mountains – Thursday, Nov. 14.
- State Route 67 that leads to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon – Monday, Dec. 2.
- State Route 261 between Eagar and Big Lake in the White Mountains – Sunday, Dec. 29.
- State Route 273 between Sunrise Park and Big Lake in the White Mountains – Sunday, Dec. 29.
ADOT will send out an updated notification if any of the closure dates change.
