11/07 An Arizona man pleaded guilty in federal court to 2-nd degree murder for his role in the brutal killing of a man on the Navajo Nation in February, 2020. 40-year-old Tyran Begay, a member of the Navajo Nation, participated in the killing of the male victim by binding and beating him, assisting in his strangulation and leaving his body exposed to frigid weather in a remote area near Smith Lake, New Mexico. Begay faces up to 30-years in prison when sentenced. Two other defendants remain in custody and are awaiting trial.
