Retail Theft Suspect Sentenced to 2.5 Years in Prison

10/25 A Prescott Valley man was sentenced to 2.5-years in prison for Organized Retail Theft. The Yavapai County Attorney’s Office says 26-year-old Andrew Cook was also sentenced to a concurrent 1-year prison term for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and 6-months jail time for DUI and Resisting Arrest. Last November, Cook and an unknown accomplice, entered the Cottonwood Walmart and walked out with a jewelry display case containing over a thousand dollars in watches. A Walmart loss prevention officer reviewed surveillance video and noticed Cook was wearing a sweatshirt bearing the name of a local business. The employee called the business and learned the man was Cook. Six days later, Cook was located in a vehicle next to a meth pipe; he struggled with deputies during his arrest.
