A few fires still burning between the Kaibab Forest and Grand Canyon

Grand Canyon National Park and Kaibab National Forest officials are working together to douse the Obi Fire along the North Rim of the Canyon. Officials say the fire has charred 941-acres since it was ignited by lightning on July 21-st. Crews are securing lines at natural boundaries and allowing the fire to spread towards those boundaries. Crews are also working to suppress the 12-acre Stina Fire northeast of Fire Point and the 17-acre Atoko Fire on the east side of Cape Royal Road near Atoko Point at the Grand Canyon. The fire has burned 32-acres. All the fires were caused by lightning.
