Recent monsoon downpours have led to flooding in areas such as Flagstaff and Prescott Valley. Sunday, Flagstaff Fire assisted multiple motorists stranded in flash flood waters and home owners whose houses had taken in water. Central Arizona Fire and Medical Fire Marshal Rick Chase says they responded to 8-different flood related calls on Sunday alone. Chase says homeowners need to be prepared for heavy rainfall induced flooding this time of year. He says to have items at the ready that can divert flood waters and keep them from entering the house. Chase says using sand bags or building a berm out of dirt is helpful in these situations.Planning ahead and being prepared can save your home from damage when flood waters threaten.
