Drug, Vehicle Theft and Weapons Charges After Routine Traffic Stop

On Friday evening a YCSO Deputy made a traffic stop on a truck with malfunctioning rear lights near Glassford Hill and Center Court in Prescott Valley. The driver, 28-year-old Joseph Boyle, was asked if he had any weapons or drugs in the vehicle and advised he did not. While the Deputy was filling out the warning for the break light, another Deputy arrived with K-9 Skye who after walking around the truck, “alerted” on the vehicle indicating possible narcotics on board.   Boyle was detained and search of the vehicle was conducted, where 2 grams of methamphetamine were located. A pistol along with a few dismantled weapons were also found.

A Vespa scooter was also located in the back of the truck, and a VIN search determined the vehicle was stolen out of Phoenix. Boyle was booked on multiple charges for Possession of Dangerous Drugs, Possession of Paraphernalia, Inaccurately Answering Concealed Carry Question, Unlawful Use of Means of Transportation and Involving a Weapon in the Commission of a Felony.
