Late Thursday night, YCSO responded to the Mount Tritle recreation area off Senator Highway where it was reported by a camper that A man had shined a light into their vehicle and then pointed a rifle at her, her child and two other adults over a camp site dispute. The campers left the site after the incident occurred and waited for law enforcement to arrive.
The male was described as wearing all camo clothing and at a campsite with a large fire. The rifle was described as an AR15 rifle with a bright light on it with a strobe function.
Deputies located the campsite of the man described by the caller, where 39-year-old John Kim was detained after a rifle like the one described by the campers and handgun were found in his possession.
Kim was arrested and booked for Aggravated Assault, Endangerment and Disorderly Conduct.
