An attorney for Cottonwood City Councilmember Derek Palosaari issued a claim for $2 million against the City, the mayor and former employees, seeking damages for “coordinated character assassination.”
Dennis I. Wilenchik, a Phoenix-based attorney, filed the claim April 7, specifically naming Mayor Tim Elinski, former City Manager Scotty Douglass and former City Attorney Jenny Winkler, along with the city as a corporation,
The claim states Palosaari and his wife Gail have suffered professionally and personally since an incident at a Christmas party for city employees in December became public.
