Grand Canyon National Park rangers are encouraging visitors to have a safe vacation while they visit one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Rangers ask that the public stay on designated trails and walkways and keep a safe distance from the rim; watch the members of your group closely, especially children; stay hydrated and be aware of the weather; stay a safe distance from wildlife in the park. Each year visitors suffer from slips, trips and falls that can result in serious injury or even death. Wednesday, rangers responded to reports of a visitor that climbed over a railing at Mather Point; lost their footing and fell 500-feet to their death. An investigation is being conducted; no other details were available.
