Firefighters are working to contain the 3 acre Pinto Fire and 5 acre Copper Fire that are burning along I-17, south of Camp Verde. Both north and south bound I-17 are closed between Highway 169 and Highway 260 at Camp Verde. Though still under investigation, the fires are believed to be human caused. Multiple crews are on scene and the fire is said to be growing. Once again a brush fire has closed I-17 in both directions between Highway 169 to exit 285 in Camp Verde. Motorists are asked to avoid the area and seek alternate routes. There is no estimated time to reopen the highway.
