Prescott Fire responded to Ponderosa Park south of Prescott Sunday afternoon on a report of a vehicle fire that had started a brush fire. Spokesman Conrad Jackson says crews arrived to find a van fully engulfed in flames with fire spreading to the surrounding pine needles and into a pine tree. He says in addition, there was a small travel trailer next to the van that had propane tanks on it that were being heated by the fire. Jackson says the crew quickly doused the vehicle fire and the growing wildland fire. The owner of the van reported that he was replacing the fuel pump on the vehicle when the fire started. The vehicle was a total loss and the travel trailer suffered severe damage.
