The Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority (CAFMA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Lee Barnes to the position of Assistant Chief of Administration. With an impressive 30- year career in the Fire Service, Chief Barnes brings a wealth of experience to CAFMA.
Chief Barnes began at Southwest Ambulance in the Phoenix area, transitioning to the Fire Service with Rural Metro Fire. Rising through the ranks from Firefighter to the position of Chief Officer, he has consistently demonstrated a commitment to the communities he serves.
Most recently, Chief Barnes served as Deputy Chief at Queen Creek Fire and Medical, where he played a pivotal role in authoring the organization’s ambulance Certificate of Necessity (CON) and establishing their emergency transportation division.
Chief Barnes expressed his enthusiasm for joining CAFMA, citing the organization’s culture and employees as key motivating factors. He is particularly excited about the opportunity to get to know the community and further contribute to CAFMA’s mission of ensuring the safety and well-being of community members.
