Illegal feeding of wildlife leaves two black bear cubs without a mother

Illegal feeding of wildlife left two black bear cubs without a mother this week. The 4-month-old bear cubs were discovered hiding at the top of a 75-foot tree a day after their mother was removed by Game and Fish from a residential neighborhood in Pinetop-Lakeside. Officials say a woman had been feeding the bear daily. It’s the second time Game and Fish attempted to relocate this bear, which meant she ultimately had to be put down. The department discovered the next day that she had two 15-pound cubs, which were rescued from the tree and then taken in by Bearizona in Williams.
