9/2 DPS Air Rescue Crews were kept busy over the weekend, with dozens of rescues taking place within the Grand Canyon, Saturday and Sunday, following the flood event. Ranger-3 completed 13-flights into the canyon, bringing 61-stranded hikers to safety after flash flooding washed out bridges and left several areas inaccessible. Each rescued person was flown to the top of the canyon and out of harm’s way.
