6/24 Coconino National Forest says the Pocket Fire, in Oak Creek Canyon, between Sedona and Flagstaff, is now 691-acres in size with 0% containment. The Southwest Area Incident Management Team 2’s public information officers will host two upcoming community meetings. The first will be tomorrow at 7-pm at Sinagua Middle School in Flagstaff. Saturday at 7, a meeting will be held at Sedona Red Rock Jr/Sr High School in Sedona. Crews continue to work towards full containment of the fire. Firefighters are working on all containment lines ahead of the heat and strong winds expected Friday through Sunday. Highway-89A remains closed between Uptown Sedona and Fort Tuthill in Flagstaff and all residents in the canyon remain on “SET” status.
