6/15 Prescott National Forest officials have temporarily closed Lower Wolf Creek Campground due to increased bear activity in the area. Officials say visitors should be aware of bear activity throughout the area, including Upper Wolf Creek Campground and Groom Creek Schoolhouse. In recent years, there have also been bear sightings at Lynx Campground, but none so far this year. Campers should keep their campsites clean, especially any food items. The Forest Service is now working to install bearproof trash cans in the area.
