Sunday, the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call of a body lying along Forest Road 512, less than a half-mile south of Highway-260 near Forest Lakes. Officials say the victim was found by a couple traveling through the area. The investigation determined the victim had suffered severe trauma to his body and head. The unidentified victim was taken to the Coconino County Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy. The victim is described as a 60-to-70-year-old white male, 5-6, 110-pounds with shoulder length gray hair; he also had a gray beard and mustache. He was wearing a white polo shirt, off white or light tan colored shorts with a black leather belt, black socks and white New Balance tennis shoes.
