6/02 NAU Police are reporting a scam. Officials say they’ve received reports of a Chinese Authority Impersonation Scam. The intended victim receives a call from what appears to be a legitimate number. The caller claims to be with law enforcement and that you’re being investigated for a crime in China. They then send fake documents in an attempt to make the call look legitimate. They then demand money and threaten arrest if you don’t pay. Ignore these scams and contact police.
