5/21 ADOT says there will be no highway construction closures over the Memorial Day weekend. Officials say travelers should plan ahead and allow extra time since heavier traffic is expected during peak travel times, especially tomorrow and next Monday. Construction will stop tomorrow afternoon and resume Tuesday. Officials say motorists should be prepared for unscheduled highway closures due to crashes, disabled vehicles or other incidents, such as wildfires. They recommend you have an emergency kit in your vehicle that includes extra drinking water, a first-aid kit, flashlight, batteries, a fully charged cellphone and charger and snacks. ADOT will have personnel ready to respond to incidents along highways over the holiday weekend.
