Some land closures have been implemented due to the worsening drought conditions in the state. Currently all state lands within Apache and Navajo Counties are closed to the public. Barriers will be in place to keep the public out. Prescott National Forest Fire Staff Officer Pete Gordon says these types of closures may soon spread across the state. The Apache/Sitgreaves National Forests have indicated they may be closing portions of the forests due to current conditions. Currently Stage-1 and Stage-2 fire and smoking restrictions are in place in most locations across the state. Visit www.firerestrictions.us for restriction information.
