Thursday afternoon, Flagstaff Police responded to the 4300-block of East Soliere Avenue, west of the North Country Club intersection, regarding a fatal two vehicle collision. Officials say witnesses reported a passenger vehicle was traveling westbound from North Country Club Drive at a high rate of speed when it lost control and slid into the eastbound lane of East Soliere Ave. A second vehicle, traveling eastbound, struck the first vehicle on the right side causing it to be pushed onto the roof and into the adjacent drainage ditch. The driver of the first vehicle involved, 22-year old Matthew Nasafotie of Flagstaff, was pronounced dead on scene. The driver of the second vehicle was transported to the FMC for medical treatment. The investigation is on-going.
