Coconino County Superintendent of Schools Cheryl Mango-Paget says the Coconino County Education Service Agency was selected to receive a U.S. Department of Agriculture grant for $259,128 through the Office of Urban Agriculture and Innovative Production. The Coconino County Education Service Agency in collaboration with Terra Birds and project partners representing small farms, community gardens, schools, hunger relief centers, and local Native American groups will develop, implement, and refine a model for community and culturally connected agriculture education to increase engagement in the local food system and increase food security for resident populations in need.
